Wireless Internet Connections are very useful, but very dangerous. Wireless connections can easily be tapped into, or the bandwith can be easily stolen from the connection. A lot of security measures should be taken when setting up and running a wireless internet connection.

Below are various safety measures you should take when setting up and running a wireless connection:
  • Change default user information when setting up.
  • Use a secure access control with bi-directional authentication.
  • Filter MAC addresses and network identifiers
  • WEP configuration must be at least 128 Bits.
  • Use incompatible options (If the network is all the same brand).
  • Limit the tranmission radius to the maximum distance needed.
