Over time your computer can become cluttered with files and folders. With all of this, your computer can begin to run poorly (opening programs slowly, freezing up when loading certain things, etc). This section is to check the harddrive for errors, and to even re-arrange programs on the harddrive so they can start faster and easier.

Scandisk is a program that will check your hard drive for any errors (wrong dates, incomplete files, etc). Along with finding errors, it can also fix them (about 99% of all errors). Another handy thing, is that Scandisk can check the harddrive surface for scratches, etc.

Disk Defragmenter is a program that will re-arrange the contents on your harddrive so that they can start faster. Overtime files get "fragmented" and split up, this tool will "clean" the harddrive so that files are found faster and easier.
